Within RM and the wider contracted remediation management workforce certain terms and ‘shortened’ terms are frequently used to describe a role, process or activity. There are many hundreds of these terms which are usually reduced to a combination of the first letter from each word (an acronym).

Many of the terms can be local and would not resonate with workforces in other regions or countries.

Here below we outline some of the terms used more ‘globally’ within RM’s work with definitions of the terms in an effort to bring consistency and clarity to the combined BP and contracted workforce. This list is not exhaustive and shall continue to be added to in subsequent document reviews. RM would suggest that to provide clarity in local contract and site documents that this list is included with local additions.
