1. Follow the equipment manufacturers’ OM&M recommendations
2. Regularly Inspect a remediation system to ensure that:
1. The remediation system, including the controls for risk mitigation, is in good working conditions
2. The remediation system is operated under the optimum conditions
3. The contingency mechanisms are able to properly react to the failure of the remediation system
3. The OM&M and inspections are conducted and signed off by a competent person(s)

RM’s Remediation Engineering & Technology group develops technology safety communication documents which identify hazards associated with specific remediation technologies and/or recommend design, implementation and OM&M practices for those technologies. RM’s Remediation Engineering & Technology group also expects our contractors/subcontractors to contribute to the development of technology safety practices. All RM contractors/subcontractors are recommended to follow the practices.
